Ok sleepy heads...WAKE UP! Good morning! I've been up since 4. I waited until 7 so I could get blood drawn and now I'm waiting to leave to go to the breast surgeon. Boy, let me tell you, Community East is ! First I get that call about the mammagram and they determine that it is 'probably' calcium deposits and  probably' benign. Then I get a call yesterday from Mid America Labs. On August 2nd, I went and had my annual bloodwork done (12 tubes!!). 3 of the tubes had to be sent out to be processed. Aparently, the truck it was on was stolen and by the time they recovered the truck, the blood was too old to be processed. Seems to me that it held the chance of being tainted anyway since they have no idea what the car thief did to any of the samples! I went in this morning to get the blood redrawn and a girl there at the desk did all but call me a liar! What? Like I have a fetish at getting stuck by a needle to have blood drawn???? After the 3rd time of her telling me that was 'just a bit too wild of a story', I got b*tchy and said 'well, if it isn't true then I am pissed because I took off of work so they can be repulled!'. Then the other girl found the fax which clearly stated 'mis-placed samples, too old when found'. Well..yeah, misplaced the whole darn truck the sampes were in! LOL! Only me, right??? Only me would want plastics and be proud of my walking and not have to have 1 foot surgery, but 2! Only me would have an idiot use the phrase 'probably benign' and think that is ok. Only me would have her blood stolen by a car theif! I should write a book...and yep, title it 'Only me'!!! Well..I better get my butt in gear! I'll let you all know what the breast surgeon has to say. Have a terrific day! Sherri

Wow, that's totally crazy!  Seriously, who WANTS to go in for more blood draws.... I used to be sad that community isn't in network for us, but I think I don't mind so much now.  Besides, Community and St Francis were the only hospitals not in network for us, so plenty of choices to be had.  I don't think I'd be okay with the "probably" diagnoses, either. Well, this shall be my last post actually being in Indiana.  This time tomorrow we'll totally be on the road and headed towards a whole new life. I'll post again after we get there so you guys know that we got their safely.  I'll still be on the Indiana board though- the KS & MO boards are like ghost towns. Hope everyone enjoys their tuesday.  We'll be finishing up the uhaul, cleaning the EMPTY house, and hopefully getting some decent sleep for the drive tomorrow.  4 am comes early!

Sherri, I would have lost it when the lab tech didnt believe you,  isnt it her boss or supervisors place to inform his/her staff that this blood has been stolen and people will be coming in to have blood redrawn.  Besides  if the tech didnt know the story she shouldnt have had an oponion or comment period. sheesh.  what would make her think you were enjoying this..... I have worked with the public for years and they just amaze me.... I go into stores and businesses and i swear some times i think they screen people to find the most ignorant or rude to put at the front desk or cash register.  It gives the ones of us who care about the public a bad name.. guess that is why it makes me so mad Ok i feel better,   Hope you otherwise have a great day...  and Good news from the breast surgeon and  Hugs, Carla

Sherri - Who in the world steals a lab truck? It would probably be marked with the lab name on the outside. It would be really easy to spot. That's nutty. Then the lab tech thought you were making it up? Like, yeah, I'm just in love with giving blood samples, please take them. What a crazy situation! I was supposed to work at Sears tonight, but I traded with someone so I could go to my son's open house for school. They're having it the night before school starts. That seems a bit odd to me. We always used to have ours a couple weeks into the school year when I was a kid. Oh well, what can you do?  Mikey's not excited about starting school. He's nervous and having stomach aches. Poor kiddo. The ADHD makes school difficult for him.  Maggie on the other hand, is excited about preschool starting. Mainly because she got a new, pink, Disney Princess backpack, that I told her she could use to take home her preschool papers.  I am feeling so tired this week. I want to go home to sleep, but of course, I can't. There's just not enough hours in the day to sleep and get everything done that needs to be done, is there? I'll have to sleep in this weekend and catch up.
